This is a match-play elimination contest (similar to the NCAA Basketball Tournament).
You'll play head-to-head against other Chalk Talk contestants during a week of Dania performances.
Individual match winners survive and advance to the next round.
The final winner receives ultimate Chalk Talk bragging rights, plus CHOICE of prize #1 or #2.
The other prize goes to the runner-up.

Prize #1: Newport player jersey, XL, Post 1 (Red),
#24 (I think it was Todd, but not sure).

Prize #2: Dania "We deal in entertainment" T-shirt, black, XL
Never worn.

DEADLINE FOR QUALIFYING ENTRIES
Sunday, March 18, 1:00 PM

GENERAL RULES (for EACH performance)
Each contestant picks ONE post position (team or player) for EACH game on the program. If players are scratched, designated subs are applied. Contestants earn 'Campeonato' points based on their picks' game finishes (Win-5 points, 2nd-3 points, 3rd-1 point). The contestant with the most Campeonato points is the match winner. If both contestants have the same point total, the win is awarded to the contestant whose entry was submitted first.

CONTEST SCHEDULE:
A. QUALIFICATION & SEEDING ROUND
NOTE:
This is NOT a practice round. It is the official start of the contest.
The contest opens with the Sunday, March 18, MATINEE performance, after which the bracket will be set. A bracket of 32 is expected, but if there are less than 32 registrants, first round 'byes' will be awarded to the top qualifiers. If there are 33 or more, there will be a 64-position bracket, again using 'byes' as needed. Qualification and seeding are decided based upon total Campeonato points for THIS performance.

B. SUBSEQUENT (MATCH PLAY) ROUNDS
Individual match competition continues with the Wednesday, March 21, EVENING performance.
POST TIME DEADLINE:
Your picks must be entered by Game #1 scheduled Post Time (FIRM - NO EXCEPTIONS). Please, don't try to play Cinderella, and don't come groveling if you get caught in traffic - just get 'em in early, before it slips your mind - hey, it happens. Entries must be placed in the threads titled:
"Enter day/date/performance 'Winter Knockout' picks HERE:"
It will be much easier to score if you use a separate line for each game.
To help avoid error, we suggest that you include the date with your picks, inside your post, e.g.,
My picks for Sunday, 3/18 MATINEE:
Game 1 - #3
Game 2 - #8
Game 3 - #4
Game 4 - #1
Game 5 - #1
Game 6 - #3
Game 7 - #2
Game 8 - #2
Game 9 - #7
Game 10 - #5
Game 11 - #3
Game 12 - #5
NOTE: You can't bet until Dania posts its entries AND we've opened a betting thread for that performance.
However, you ARE allowed to advance-bet (if the thread is open) in anticipation of a current-round victory.

OH, BY THE WAY ...

It's just not cricket to wait for your opponent's bets, and then carefully craft yours around his.
You might think that's clever 'strategery', but this contest is about picking winners, not 'gamesmanship' ... 'nuff said.

Good luck!

THE FINE PRINT
IF YOU DON'T SUBMIT AN ENTRY You receive ZERO points for the performance,
and your match is defaulted.
IF YOUR ENTRY IS POSTED LATE
(i.e., AFTER SCHEDULED GAME #1 POST TIME)
You receive ZERO points for the performance,
and your match is defaulted.
IF YOUR ENTRY IS INCORRECT (MIS-FORMATTED), AND CAN'T BE
REPAIRED IN TIME
(the 'hanging chad' rule)
If I can (somehow) interpret your selection, I'll try to correct the problem. It's my judgment, so no complaints if YOU blew it.
IF YOU DEFAULT IN THE FINALS You will not receive the runner-up prize.
