If there's one thing I've learned about Jai Alai over the years
its the looks can be deceiving, which is why its good to see an
actual breakdown on the situation like Craig has done. I've seen
games where it looked like not just the place team but nearly
every team in the game was dumping points. I can think of players,
Juanito at Miami for example, who seem to be the king of sloppy
game wins, where it seems that nearly every time they win, its
on a series of stupid mistakes or bad drops by other teams. Years
ago, when I was going out to Dania every night, there was an early
game player named Uribe (or something similar to that) who I swear,
every time this guy won a game it was on a series of blown serves,
missed rebotes, kill shots put in the pad, easy drops and the
like. Over the years I've come to the conclusion that the vast
majority of the time a bad drop or a sloppy throw is just that,
a bad drop or a sloppy throw. As far as the intentional dump to
ensure a spot on the board, the only thing even similar to that
I've ever heard of was the tournament siutation with Yannel years
ago, and he paid a pretty heavy price for that career wise.
