This will be my last post on your site... Of course the game of jai-alai is not "fixed". You have to realize that anytime you get a group of people together in any endeavor, whether it be sports, business, politics you have to put in the money equation. In Conn. many years ago a group of businessmen (the mob ) were system betting, before the day of computing power at home. These people used management and players to influence the game. They made millions. World jai-alai had handles that were unimaginable. People were murdered... Game rigging ended the sport in the Phillipnes for I believe about twelve years. One quarter of the roster at Melbourne jai-alai were implicated in collusion in the 70's. Palm Beach jai-alai had to burn down their own fronton to keep from going to jail. Means-motive-opportunity. These three words allow the gaming world to always have doubt in any wagered event. Social issues which affect any population also show their ugly head in jai-alai. Drugs, alcohol, and gambling addiction has had an impact on "our game". Jai-alai has diminished in stature monetarily, and I believe the game is about as "clean" as it has ever been. It makes me sad to see so few people attending jai-alai, especially in Miami where the roster is exceptional. That's all I have to say. No need to reply to this... I still love to strap on my cesta and play every now and then. Thanks
