I have a friend who likes to play 4 numbers and box the exacta($3) and the tri($1) for $60 per game. I know this is not the "optimal" way to bet for value in the long run.....but then again "long run" and "bet" and "win" generally don't belong in the same sentence with jai-alai and a 20%+ takeout...

But what I do know is that when I go and bet this with him and we split it for $30/game a piece it is the MOST FUN I have wagering on the game. Almost every point matters to you and you get a few really exciting points mixed in there where you have an odd combo about to come in.

Plus you can advance wager it for the night and relax in between games or even grab a bite or some poker in between action.
